EOQA

Railway Approvals is appointed by the French Railway Safety Authority [EPSF] as an EOQA in accordance with French decree 2006-1279 (enacting the European Railway Safety Directive 2004/49/EC). This is akin to (Independent) Safety Verification in the UK (see section 2.7 below), although structured more formally than the UK approach.

Railway Approvals can undertake assessment within the following areas:

  • Rolling stock other than wagons
  • Freight vehicles

  • Certification of Alstom Prima EL2 Locomotive
  • Certification of various EMD locomotives in the JT42CWRM range
  • Certification of Vossloh E4000 locomotive
